Diving into the Healing Realm: An Interview with Local Psychic Lisa Campion
Lisa Campion is a local Psychic, counselor, reiki master teacher, and energy healer. In this interview, we discuss what it’s like to be a psychic, the need for healing now more than ever, and the different ways of connecting with people in today’s society through healing. We talk about best-selling books, COVID-19, and how you can get in touch with your psychic side!

Kaylee, Soulita: You describe yourself as a Psychic Counselor, a Reiki Master Teacher, and Energy Healer. How do you define these roles?
Lisa: I started working as a psychic when I was just 19 years old. This was way back in the 1980s when there weren’t any psychics on TV, or anywhere really. I grew up as a very psychic child and had to learn everything the hard way since back then there were no teachers either.
Once I started working as a psychic, I soon realized that I needed more skills and went to school to become a therapist. For a long time, I combined psychic work with counseling and that is how I got to be a Psychic Counselor. About 20 years ago, I added Reiki into the mix and have been teaching Reiki ever since then. These days, I combine Reiki (and a few other types of energy work), psychic work, and counseling all together into my unique blend of healing.
It’s the best job ever and I feel lucky to be able to do it and also help people too.
Kaylee: Where and when did your interest in reiki begin?
Lisa: Just about 20 years ago, I started seeing more and more things happening in people’s bodies and in their energy fields while I was doing my psychic work. I was seeing colors, and weird patterns in their energy field that I knew were energy blocks but I didn’t know how to address these things in my sessions. I was looking for some way to directly deal with people’s energy systems and also their bodies.
At that point, I was also seeing a lot of things happening in people’s bodies too. (I am a pretty good medical intuitive too.) One of my friends recommends that I study Reiki as a way to understand and impact people’s energy systems and bodies too. That was 1999 and it has been a very powerful and beautiful part of my healing practice since then. I have been teaching Reiki since that time too and also enjoy that very much.

Kaylee: How did you get your titles? Were there schooling or certificate programs involved?
Lisa: I did do the normal schooling for my work as a counselor with a bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of a master’s degree in psychology and counseling. I have trained with many other Reiki Masters over the years and have certificates from each training. There is no real certification for being a psychic, although I do think it would be cool if there were. Let’s start at Psychic University.
At the moment, I teach psychic development classes of all levels that come with a certificate, as do the Reiki classes that I teach. I also run a year-long training program to teach people how to be professional-level psychic healers, called Psychic Healer Academy.
At this point in my career, I am most dedicated to teaching and training healers, psychics and empaths, since I believe that the world needs all the healers it can get, now more than ever.
Kaylee: How has your journey as a healer transformed over the last 20 years?
Lisa: I started my practice as a clinician, seeing 20 clients a week for years and years. But I also always have been a teacher and love teaching as well. About five years ago I started wondering how I could have a bigger impact in the world and that is when I decided to start writing and publishing books.
I really do love writing and plan on continuing to write, since the books are stacking up in my head waiting to be written.
At the moment, I am moving away from my private practice and doing more teaching, writing, and mentoring which is super fun for me and very fulfilling.
Kaylee: You have written two books now. What is it like being a best-selling author? How has it changed your career?
Lisa: I love being a writer! When I was six years old, I wrote down in my little diary that when I grew up, I was going to be an author and a psychic. So, I guess I knew even back then what my life purpose was going to be.
I was surprised when my first book The Art of Psychic Reiki became a bestseller, but very pleased that it seems to strike a chord with people and be a book that people needed and wanted. It was published in 2018 and is still selling very well, which is very exciting.
My new book Energy Healing for Empaths came out this year, just in February, and made #1 in 6 categories on Amazon, so it is also off to a good start.
I think most authors have a love/hate relationship with writing. It’s difficult and a lot of work and yet I just love it since I keep doing it! There are times when I think whatever I am doing is terrible. I remember calling my publisher and crying because I was convinced it was the worst book ever. (This is usually during the editing process, which is always tricky.) Then when I hold the book in my hands after it is published and I think- “Hey, this is pretty good, who wrote this???” Funny.
I am gratified about it all when I hear from people who have read my books and it has helped them in some way. That is what it is all about.

Kaylee: Is there a local healing community in Rhode Island?
Lisa: Yes, there is! I am very new to Rhode Island, having just moved here from Massachusetts a few months ago. But there are healers, all over RI and some very good ones too.
Kaylee: How would you describe your role in the healing community, local or not?
Lisa: I was very well known locally in Central Massachusetts since I worked there for so many years. I would like to be part of the local Rhode Island community here too and hope to be meeting more healers here as we come out of quarantine.
At this point, much of my work is with people from all over and it shifted to a national level since I do a lot of radio and podcast appearances. (I also have my own podcast called The Miracle of Healing- check it out!)
But the local scene is also important to me too and I can’t wait to jump into it.
Kaylee: Do you prefer to do your private lessons in person, via video, or over the phone? Why?
Lisa: My preference is to work in person, since I really like the hands-on aspect of it and feel like I get the deepest psychic readings and more powerful healings when I can literally get my hands on people.
Of course, in this day and age, that is not always possible with the pandemic and I also work with people from all over the world now, so video sessions are the next best thing. Since I am a visual psychic, it helps me a lot to be able to see my clients. Zoom is a wonderful thing for me!

Kaylee: Do you have any business goals for 2021?
Lisa: I am sure that I will be writing another book this year. As soon as you publish one and it’s doing well, your publisher wants you to start writing a new one. It’s a bit like having someone hand you your newborn baby and before you can take a breath, they ask you to do it again! But it’s all good.

Kaylee: You have many different outlets to get information and healing to your community. What is your favorite way to connect with people?
Lisa: It’s hard to keep up with all of the ways to stay in touch these days. Social media is a great way to reach people and connect so I am really grateful for that. I am on Facebook and Instagram a lot. I have a YouTube channel too. If I was really brave, I would figure out TicTock because it’s so fun!
I have a wonderful FB group about Reiki that is a fantastic community, and I would invite you all to check it out.

Kaylee: How was your career affected by COVID-19?
Lisa: Well, it sure has been an interesting year and a difficult one for so many people. Wow. In a weird way, my business always does well in times of trouble because people need more help and I am glad to help in any way that I can. It did give me the chance to switch my work to a more virtual scenario and that has been good in many ways too. It has at least given me the chance to move to Rhode Island and I am super grateful for that!
I do see an interesting trend that more and more people are opening up psychically, have spiritual openings or maybe realizing that they are an empath. I think there are a lot of hardships and difficult changes this past year, but also many people are having quantum leaps in their spiritual evolution. So it’s a great time to learn how to access your intuition, psychic and healing abilities.
More and more people are waking up and having a direct experience with this kind of thing which I think is a good thing, and very encouraging and exciting. Maybe it’s the silver lining to all the other hardships we have had to endure this past year.
Kaylee: How do you suggest that someone interested in psychic healing or Reiki get started?
Lisa: Read my book, The Art of Psychic Reiki! Haha! It’s also a great idea to receive a few Reiki sessions and see what it is like as a recipient of Reiki. Then if you want to learn, find a well-recommended teacher in your area. It’s always great to get in-person training if you can, and many wonderful Reiki teachers are doing classes online right now too.
The same holds true for working with a psychic healer. Ask for recommendations from people that you know and make sure to go to someone that has a good reputation and is an experienced practitioner. I think that using your intuition is a big help here too. Wait until you find someone that you feel like you click with.
From teaching to hands-on healing, Lisa Campion is busy doing fulfilling work during a difficult time. The coolest part? She’s open and accessible to her community and loves to teach! Have you been curious about psychic healing and don’t know where to start? I hope this helped shed some light on the modern-day healing that’s going on all around us.
What did you learn from Lisa that you’ve never thought of before?
